Banjar trek

This trek is very  easy and very interesting trek   there is  beautiful mountains  srounding area , temples and remote villages of Himachal Pradesh. For large distances , the trek follows the ridge line separating inner and outer Seraj.

Day-01: meet in Manali   & acclimatization. Afternoon Manali sightseen

 After lunch local sightseeing of Manali on bikes visiting Hadimba Temple, Vashisht hot water springs, Manu Temple, Naggar castle, Roerich art gallery, Shiva temple. Over night at hotel.

Day-02: Manali-Jibbe 
After breakfast,proceed to  Jibbe  car afterreach Banjar . we start trek  Banjar village. To chaini temple from 3km . Reach the 500 year old building with its 250 feet tall temple tower after about 3 hrs. Relax in the shade of ancient cedars and after lunch, walk down to Jibbe camp. Lovely view all around from the camp. Overnight in camp.

Day-03: Jibbe - Ghyagi – Shoja (2692m/8830 ft)
Easy level of trek today with 6-10km to cover in 5hrs. The motor road from Jhibi to Ghyagi climbs gently through exquisite forests of blue pine and deodar. Beyond Ghyagi there are two options; one is to follow the motor road (8km) till Shoja. The other is to climb up a steep footpath (4km) that winds its way up through the forest, along the Ghyagi nallah. With the increase in altitude, the mixture of rhododendron, ban oak, horse chestnut, blue pine and deodar becomes interspersed with spruce, moru and then fir, as the Shoja camp site is reached. Overnight camp.

Day-04: Shoja – Takrasi (2250m/7,380ft)
Walk up to Jalori pass, through a beautiful flowery forest path. After 3hrs reach the top of the old Jalori pass, where there are the ruins of the old fort. Spectacular views are possible of the Pir-panjal range from the top. After lunch trek down to Takrasi. Overnight in Camp.

Day-05: Takrasi – Paneo
Trek to Paneo 6hrs aprox, where Lord Louis Mountbatten used to escape the crowds of Shimla, the summer capital of the British Raj. The trek takes you through beautiful forested areas. Overnight in camp. .

Day-06: Paneo – Khanag (2530 m/8,300ft)
Long trek of 8-9 hrs, but a level trek through the forest. Overnight in camp.

Day-07: Khanag – Margi (The Dak Runners’ Trail
This old bridle path passes through tiny hill village existing in a beautiful time warp. It was the route on which forest dak runners carried official and personal letters in the old days. It’s a gentle walk along the forest paths through Taral, Margi and Shilla up to Kullu Sarahan (4 days). It involves staying at altitudes of over 2,000m throughout, with rest houses at every nine odd km. From Kullu Sarahan you can trek to Bagi Pul connected by motor road. Bagi Pul offers an exit to Shimla via NH22 across the Satlej (152km).

Khanag - Margi :
Trek to Margi (5-6 Hrs). The trek passes through dense forest following the stream. Overnight stay in tented Camp.

Day-08: Margi - Shilla Nala - Shimla :
Trek to Shilla nala (Trek end point) and hhtours to Shimla. On arrival, check-into hotel for overnight stay. .

Day- 10: Shimla sight seeing.

After breakfast  we proceed to visiting shimla local sightseen.

Day 11:  Shimla to Chandigarh

Early in morning  we proceed to Chandigarh and end of our services.
